LERA 13th Annual PhD Student Consortium
"Work in Action: Scholars without Borders"
Thursday, January 6, 2011
Continental B Room, Westin Tabor Center, Denver, CO
What are the differing ways we as scholars in our field can and should serve as actors in labor and employment relations? How can we transform our interdisciplinary science into interconnected practice? We hope to use the 2011 LERA Ph.D. student consortium to explore these themes of putting scholarship in action in creative and effective ways in addressing contemporary problems in public policy, economy, management and activism. This includes traversing boundaries between scholars, policy makers and practitioners and navigating a wide variety of potential career opportunities in both the academic and non-academic sectors. Toward this end, the consortium will provide time for interaction with both scholars and practitioners, formally and informally.
