Labor Relations Negotiator

The candidate will assume the responsibility for negotiating collective bargaining agreements including the research, drafting and preparation of proposals. This is a corporate position located at our headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland and reports to the Director, Labor Relations. Due to the nature of collective bargaining this position requires extensive travel to the branch locations for preparation and negotiations.

Specially the essential functions of the Labor Relations Negotiator are:
·  Administers the company's strategy subject to top management guidance and approval
·  Partners with local management and corporate to prepare for contract negotiations
·  Reviews current and prior collective bargaining agreements and develop priority list for bargaining
·  Prepares proposals and negotiates collective bargaining agreements to include economic and wage data as well as an extensive knowledge of labor law and collective bargaining trends
·  Teams with other HR groups including but not limited to: Benefits, Compensation, Payroll, Associate Relations and Compliance to ensure contract negotiations conform to the company policies and practices
·  Educate field location management on new collective bargaining agreements and other labor relations training as needed

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:

·  Requires a Bachelors degree
·  Requires 6-8 years of Human Resources and Labor Relations experience
·  Requires experience as a lead negotiator for collective bargaining agreements
·  Requires strong working knowledge of HR Laws and regulations and expert in the NLRA and Labor Relations
·  Requires computer knowledge in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
·  Requires strong oral, written and interpersonal skills
