The EPRN Managing Editor position represents a bridge between policy-oriented scholars and policy makers in the broad arena of labor and employment relations. This person will coordinate the building and development of the new Employment Policy Research Network (EPRN) website and redesign of the LERA website. Requires setting priorities, managing organizational structures, and achieving results under the project timelines. They will create and repackage content, seek out new content, and organize and coordinate the skills of content editors and a network of academics (researchers) to build the websites’ research catalogs and inventories and feature policy-shaping discussions based on research. Assists the Executive Director to execute and meet program goals. This position is a Visiting Academic Professional position funded by grants for a period of 2 years.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor degree required (prefer higher), in journalism, industrial or employment relations, economics, political science, management, English or literature, sociology, or related fields, etc. Project management experience required. Three years minimum experience as a writer or contributor to published journals, newspapers, speeches, blogs, magazines, books, website content, etc. (samples required), and in working with the media or public relations. Skills needed in word processing, database, desktop publishing, spreadsheet applications. Knowledge of Dreamweaver and Drupal a plus. Must have current affiliation to the Illinois campus.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience. APPOINTMENT: Visiting, 100% time appointment for a period of two years. START DATE: As soon as possibility after closing date.
