The Department of Labor Studies and Employment Relations at Penn State University invites applications for a faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor rank to begin August 2010.
The Department
welcomes applications from all candidates with strong backgrounds in employment
relations, human resources, and related social sciences. We are
particularly interested in candidates with research and teaching interests in
international labor and
employment relations, workplace dispute resolution, workplace diversity, compensation
and benefits, and strategic human resource management.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in a
relevant discipline. Candidates for the
Assistant Professor rank should possess significant research potential;
candidates for the Associate Professor rank should have a strong research
record. External funding potential will
also be considered.
The Department of Labor
Studies and Employment Relations is a multidisciplinary department with a large
undergraduate program, a strong residential Masters of Science in HRER program,
and a fully-online Masters of Professional Studies in HRER. The Department has
existing strengths in employment relations, human resources, comparative
employment relations, and work and family.
