5. Process of Affiliation with the National LERA
(from the National Bylaws)
- The Chapter will send to the National Office
- Its request for affiliation
- An approved draft of chapter bylaws
- A list of planned programs
- A list of elected officers
- The request for affiliation will be presented for confirmation to
the Executive Board at its annual or spring meeting.
- The Executive Board may accept or refuse affiliation. If accepted,
the National Office will issue a certificate of recognition.
- The Association will not interfere with activities of the chapter
provided that they conform with the purposes of the Association. The
affiliation of any chapter whose program or activities are inconsistent
with the aims and purposes of the Association, may be terminated by a
vote of the Executive Board.
- Each Chapter will pay a fee to the national LERA. It is the policy
of the national office to waive dues from a chapter during the first
year of its affiliation.
