Starting an LERA Chapter

3. Recommendations of the National Chapter Advisory Committee:
  1. Find a "home base" for the chapter that provides a location for chapter records and has access to computer and/or secretarial help.
  2. Select a contact person or secretariat that agrees to serve over an extended period of time. This provides continuity for the chapter and an on-going liaison with the national office.
  3. Consider bringing officers "up through the ranks" to President or ask officers to serve a two-year term to provide continuity and expertise.
  4. Keep recent past officers active by asking them to serve as chair or a member of a committee such as membership, program or nomination. They have the experience and expertise that should be shared.
