The 135-member chapter meets the third Thursday on alternate months, September through May, at the Hotel at Exit 37, Liverpool. The September meeting featured Donna Dolan, Director of Work & Family Issues, CWA District One. The January 2003 meeting featured a Negotiations Workshop. The March 2003 meeting featured the topic Collective Bargaining and Health Care. The May 2003 meeting topic was be Pay for Performance. The June 2003 meeting featured the 13th Annual IRRA Golf Tournament and Dinner Outing, at the Lake Shore Yacht and Country Club. The September 2003 meeting features a Panel Discussion by leading arbitrators regarding frequently asked questions as polled by the chapter membership. The November 2003 meeting features a presentation by IRRA National Board Member Ron Blackwell, Director of Corporate Affairs, AFL-CIO. The January 2004 meeting will be an NLRB Workshop. The March 2004 meeting will feature an International business presentation of the NIKE standards for low wage workers around the world. The May 2004 meeting will be a presentation by representatives from Conifer Park on substance abuse in the workplace. On June 28, 2004 the chapter will hold the14th Annual IRRA Golf Tournament.
Membership dues are $30 regular, $15 student, $350 Organizational (up to 15 members).

The 65-member chapter serves an eight-county area between New York City and the New York Capitol District along the Hudson Valley. The chapter holds dinner meetings alternating Tuesdays through Thursday in and around the I-84/Route 9 corridor (Fishkill and Newburgh) and holds a Westchester meeting. Plans are underway for a September 2004 meeting, "Expanding Free Trade Agreements: Impact on Labor and Management." The May 2004 included Installation of Officers and a speaker discussing the topic of Global Issues in Labor. The March 2004 meeting featured a Panel on Collective Bargaining in Difficult Economic Times. The November 2003 meeting featured a Tour of Poughkeepsie Journal Newspaper with dinner to follow. The September 2003 meeting featured speakers Thomas P. Donoghue, Esq. of Jackson Lewis, LLP (Tom is cum laude of St. John's University School of Law) and Bob Compani, the Strategic Campaign Coordinator for CSEA, on the topic Management Techniques When Unions Come Calling! The May 2003 speaker was Paula Voos, National IRRA President. She discussed "Employment Relations in Difficult Times". The March 2003 meeting was a panel at dinner , and addressed the Federal Medical Leave Act. The meeting featured representatives from labor and management and was co-sponsored with Cornell ILR Alumni Assn of Westchester & Fairfield Counties. The chapter publishes a newsletter and the annual membership directory will be published in January.

The 186-member chapter is held an annual Spring Conference
in May at the de Seversky Center in Brookville, Long Island featuring
keynote speaker John J.Toner, Executive Secretary of the NLRB, and various
other speakers and panels. The January 2003 meeting was held at the Nassau Bar Assn, Mineola, at 5:30 p.m. The featured speakers were
Dick and Tia Denenberg, Workplace Solutions, discussing
workplace violence. The February 2003 meeting was held at Hofstra
University, and featured many speakers on the topic of "Revitalizing the Labor
Movement". The April 2003 meeting, the Annual Spring Conference, was
held at de Seversky Center, Old Westbury. The featured speakers were Dick and
Tia Denenberg, Workplace Solutions, discussing workplace
violence. The May 2003 Spring Conference was held at de Seversky Center, Old
Westbury, LI. Panels on labor arbitration, universal healthcare, and
alternatives to NLRB elections were held. A Spring Conference
is planned for April 2004, and future Chapter dinner meetings are
tentatively scheduled for January 13, March 25, June 8, and October 12,
2004. More information will be provided closer to the time of the meeting.
The chapter awards $250 scholarships to students who are in ILR programs at
colleges on Long Island, and who are nominated by their schools—Cornell ILR,
SUNY-Old Westbury, New York Institute of Technology and Hofstra participate.

The 97-member chapter meets on the third Tuesday of the month, several times a year for dinner and program at various locations. In January, Ann Harrison, New York State United Teachers Regional Director, and John Trela, BOCES Coordinator of Labor Relations Services, discussed “Trading Places”. The January 2003 Meeting was be a luncheon. The speaker was be Marlene Gold, Chair of the New York City Office of Collective Bargaining. The title of Ms. Gold's presentation was, 9/11 and Thereafter; its Affects on One Agency and Labor Relations. The March 2003 meeting topic was Employee v. Employee with speakers Melvin Osterman and William Seamon. Past chapter president Jan Conti welcomes members to an exciting year of meetings and activities. The September 2003 meeting featured election of officers. The November 2003 meeting topic is What do the Tech Valley promises mean for the employment situation in our area? with speaker: James Ross, Labor Market Analyst, New York State Department of Labor. Remember Submit your Dues by November 30 To be included in the Membership Directory. Future meetings are planned for March 16 and May 18, 2004, with possible topics: Labor Market trends in transportation & high tech; Transportation Legislation. The membership directory was published for 2001-2002. This fall there will be a review of the Chapter’s By-laws.

at the Williams Club. The
October 29, 2002 meeting
topic was "A View From The Bench” Commentary on the Trial of Labor
and Employment Cases in Federal Court with speaker Hon. Frederic Block,
United States District Judge, Eastern District of New York. The December
11, 2002 meeting topic was "Who’s On First…” Collective Bargaining
and Major League Sports with Panel Moderator Prof. Samuel Estreicher,
NYU School of Law. The January
23, 2003 meeting topic wasCurrent Issues in Labor Law with speakers
Hon. Alvin Blyer, Regional Director, NLRB, Region 29 & Hon. Celeste
Mattina, Regional Director, NLRB, Region 2. The March
18, 2003 meeting topic was "Impasse Resolution and the New York
State Public Employment Relations Board" with speaker Michael R. Cuevas,
Chairman, N.Y.S. Public Employment Relations Board. The May
14, 2003 meeting topic was "The Contingent Work Force: Asset or
Liability", a Panel Discussion with Moderator: Randolph E. Wills,
General Counsel NYC Commission on Human Rights.

204-member chapter holds monthly dinner meetings from September through
May. The May 2004 meeting focused on Citizens
of the Year and Scholarship Presentations. In April 2004, the chapter visited
The Buffalo News for a tour and presentation on Labor Relations
Issues. The March 2004 meeting concentrated on "Arbitrators' View of
Arbitration."
The February 2004 meeting topic is "Creating Effective Health
Care Options through Labor-Management Cooperation" with speakers Dennis
Campagna, Esq., Cornell University; Thomas Pomidoro and Dr. Darlene Michalak,
ERIE 1 BOCES, Thomas Dziedzic, IBT Local 264, and Kathleen O'Hara, Erie
County Labor Relations Director. In
December 2003 the Executive Board Meeting was held. The November 2003 meeting
topic was "Impact on Labor Relation in the City of Buffalo" with
moderator Adam Kaufman, Regional Dir of PERB and speakers Robert Meegan,
President, Buffalo Police Benevolent Assn, Philip Rumore, President, Buffalo
Teachers Federation, Leonard Matarese, Commissioner of HR, City of Buffalo,
the Honorable Paul A. Tokasz, Majority Leader of the NYS Assembly, and
Richard Tobe, VP, Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo & designated
spokesman for the Control Board, City of Buffalo. The
October 2003 meeting featured a Labor Law Update with possible topics: FMLA,
Proposed Changes to FLSA (overtime), etc. The April 2003 meeting topic was
Pensions and Retiree Health Benefits-A Looming Crisis? with speaker
Louis J. Thomas, Director, District 4, United Steelworkers of America.
The February 2003 topic
was "Computers and Privacy in the Workplace" with speakers Andrea
Sammarco, Esq. or the Law Offices of Andrea Sammarco, and Catherine Creighton,
Esq., of Creighton, Pearce, Johnsen, & Giroux. The
chapter provides a Citizen of the Year Award and a Scholarship Award on
a regular basis.
