The 400-member chapter conducts two day-long conferences,
several dinner programs, and a breakfast conference each year. The
October 2002 meeting topic was "Creating a Constructive Organizational
Culture" with Gordon Graham, motivational speaker and consultant.
In November 2002, the chapter co-sponsored the Labor and Management Hall
of Fame Induction Ceremony, inducting Edward J. Harrick, Ph.D., Professor
Emeritus, SIUE and Tadas Kicielinski, Executive Assistant to the General
President of the Iron Workers International Union (Contact: Marvin Finkelstein,
Exec Dir, Labor-Management Committee, SIUE Box 1400, Edwardsville, IL 62026-1400).
The
February 2003 Conference topic was Industrial Stability vs. Employee
Rights. Speakers included Ralph Tremain, Regional Director of NLRB Region
14 in St. Louis and Subregion 33 in Peoria, IL, Attorney Robert Stewart,
McMahon, Berger , and Attorney James Singer, Schuchat, Cook & Werner.
The April 2003
Conference & 30th Anniversary Celebration topic is 30
Years of Industrial Relations. Speakers included Dennis W. Rocheleau,
Manager, Union Relations, General Electric Company, and national IRRA Executive
Board Member, Gladys Gruenberg, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus, St. Louis University,
Duke McVey, President Emeritus, Missouri AFL-CIO, Paul Sultan, Ph.D., Professor
Emeritus, Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, and with session
chair, Ed Harrick. For more info click here.
The May/June 2003 Conference will focus on one or several hot topics including
Last Chance Agreements, Duty of Fair Representation,
Use of the Internet to Gather Labor-Management Information.
Dues are $30 regular, $80 patron, $10 student, $300 cosponsoring organizations. Affiliated with the National IRRA 1972. |
