OCIRRA, a chapter with over 200 members, has a history of activism, producing several members who have gone on to participate in various levels in the national organization. Many former chapter presidents, who remain active in the chapter long after their terms have expired, are now leaders of the national IRRA. The OCIRRA chapter was awarded an Outstanding Chapter Award in 2003, with merit awards for chapter-to-national relations, outstanding programming, consistent chapter excellence, and member innovation. Likewise, the chapter was recognized in 2002 for outstanding programming and consistent chapter excellence. These awards are proudly displayed at chapter events.

OCIRRA sponsors 5 dinner program meetings a year.  The programs are the most cutting-edge in contemporary employment relations.  The program meetings are normally held at the Sheraton Park Hotel, 1855 South Harbor Boulevard, Anaheim, CA 92802.  Dinner meetings are scheduled for the months of January, March, May, September and November.  (Call for confirmation of dates and location.  Note:  the regularly used hotel is undergoing renovation.)   Program registration begins at 6 p.m.  A no-host bar follows.  An enjoyable dinner is served at 7 p.m.  The program begins at 8 p.m. and is usually over around 9 p.m.  Parking at the hotel is included in the cost.  Dinner meetings are $44/members and $49/nonmembers.   MCLE Credit—1 hour.

Dues are $55 regular, $5 students, $100 organizations.

Tuesday, September 21, 2010 - Dinner Meeting. Come hear renowned labor scholar Catherine Fisk discuss the significance of the Supreme Court's labor and employment law cases from the past term, including the impact of 14 Penn Plaza and New Process Steel on both labor and management, and preview the pending cases for the coming term. Professor Fisk has previously taught at Duke Law School, Loyola Law School--Los Angeles, and University of Southern California, and is currently the Chancellor's Professor of Law at the recently--founded School of Law at University of California--Irvine. She has published many books in the area of labor and employment law, including Labor Law in the Contemporary Workplace (2009), and Labor Law Stories

Tuesday, March 30, 2010 - "Reflections on my Term as General Counsel" Dinner Meeting. This meeting marks the 75th Anniversary of the National Labor Relations Act, and the Honorable Ronald Meisburg will be reflecting on his four years as General Counsel of the NLRB. He is one of only four individuals to serve as a Board Member and General Counsel of the NLRB and will become the third longest-serving General Counsel in the history of the NLRB in August.
